BUFFALO, N.Y. — ACV Auctions has hired Michael Waterman as its vice president of sales. He will play a key role in helping the company grow its mobile-enabled live auctions.

Waterman is a 20-year automotive industry veteran who bring experience in market development, hiring top sales talent, and working with dealerships to enhance their wholesale process. Prior to this role, he worked in product and sales management at Dealersocket, Dealertrack and ADESA.

“Michael’s success working with dealerships is proven,” said George Chamoun, who was recently hired as the company’s CEO to scale the fast growing company. “His background running dealerships, consulting dealers on technology and helping them enhance their wholesale operation is a very unique combination. We are very proud to have Michael lead our sales in dealerships.”

The company describes its platform as an advanced mobile platform that enables used-car dealers to view, bid and purchase car inventory through online auctions. These live auctions, the company added, are conducted from franchise dealer lots and last around 20 minutes, saving dealer time and money.

“I am very excited to join ACV Auctions, an already proven better way to buy and sell wholesale vehicles,” Waterman said. “My objective is to bring ACV Auctions to car dealers throughout the country, with the goal of maximizing their return on wholesale vehicles. ACV Auctions was created with these needs in mind.”
