Cox Automotive has completed the acquisition of Bel Air Auto Auction near Baltimore, Md., and Tallahassee Auto Auction in Tallahassee, Fla., the first Manheim auction addition in nearly 25 years, coinciding with the company’s 80th anniversary.

“These locations bring strong local roots, decades of service, and a commitment to clients,” said Grace Huang, president of Cox Automotive Inventory Solutions. “We look forward to shaping the future of automotive auctions together.”

Expanding Market Coverage

With the additions, Manheim now operates more than 80 U.S. locations spanning over 6,500 acres.

  • Bel Air Auto Auction, now Manheim Maryland, strengthens Manheim’s mid-Atlantic presence and joins the Manheim Fredericksburg Market Center, led by Craig Amelung.

  • Tallahassee Auto Auction, now Manheim Tallahassee, is the company’s 12th Florida location. It fills a geographic gap and joins the Manheim New Orleans Market Center, led by Jeff Modjeski.

Both auctions handle consignments from dealers, fleets, public agencies, and other sellers, offering storage, transportation, digital sales, reconditioning, and related services.

Team Expansion

The acquisition adds more than 450 employees to Cox Automotive.

“We welcome our new team members as they join the Cox Automotive family today,” said Alan Lang, senior vice president of physical services and auctions at Cox Automotive. “These employees will help drive our next chapter of service.”

Client Benefits

Clients will gain greater access to inventory, more sourcing options, and continued service at both locations. Regular sale days and support will continue during the transition. Manheim will introduce its full suite of digital tools at Manheim Maryland and Manheim Tallahassee in coming months.
