A Kansas City, Mo. metro area dealership changed hands as a small but growing auto group added its first Ford franchise.
Max Ford in Harrisonville was renamed Reed Ford after purchaser Reed Automotive Group, which already operated five dealerships among the Buick GMC, Hyundai, Chevrolet, and Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram brands.
Reed is headed by Randy, Trevin and Tyler Reed. The group sold one Hyundai dealership in December.
The buyer and sellers Mark Muller and Bob Jacaway of Max Motors Dealerships were both represented by Pinnacle Mergers & Acquisitions, which also brokered Reed’s Hyundai sale.
Reed’s other holdings are spread across Kansas City and St. Joseph in western Missouri near the Kansas state line.
Max Motors, founded in 2006, still has nearly a dozen dealerships in Missouri and Kansas.
