Ford has recalled and issued a do-not-drive warning for more than 2,300 Super Duty trucks due to the potential of brake failure.

The recall affects certain 2025 F-250s, F-350s F-450s and F-550s.

The automaker discovered the root problem during predelivery inspections, identifying two trucks whose brake pedal assemblies had been installed without retaining springs connecting the brake booster pushrods to the pedals, causing the pedals to swing free and brake function to suddenly stop.

A total of four trucks have been reported as having the defect, and the automaker estimates that 1% of the recalled vehicle population is affected.

It traced the error to an inexperienced operator trainee and decided to recall units assembled before it corrected the trainee in proper procedure.

Ford has sent recall notices to owners advising them to not drive the vehicles until a dealer inspects them. It’s also asked dealers to contact owners directly with the warning and arrange a mobile inspection or towing to the dealership for repair.

Dealers will properly assemble the pedal and booster pushrod as needed.

The automaker said it’s unaware of any crashes or injuries connected to the issue.
